- No mention in Bible. Most famous is the German Theologian, Bishop and Philosopher, Albert the Great (1206-1280). Recognised today as the founder of Medieval scholastic philosophy he also wrote on a number of other subjects including the revolutionary (for the time) notion that the world was round and not flat.
